Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog post! My name is Laura Gilfoy and I live in Central California, smack dab in between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Here’s a little about myself so you can get to know me! The name of my blog comes partly from my friend Dave (who calls me princess) and my love of classic rock!I currently work full time and go to school full time online. I go to school at Full Sail University and am enrolled in the Music Business Bachelors Degree Online program. I love it!
I have three dogs, a Jack Russell named Tye, a Corgi mix named Copper and a Lab mix named Truffle. I love taking them to the beach and travel with them as much as I can!
As you can see by my degree program, I love music! Classic rock is my favorite genre and Styx is my favorite band. I have seen them in concert 10 times and counting and I’ve met Tommy Shaw, Lawrence Gowan and Ricky Phillips. I’ve also met their tour manager, George Packer, their photographer and assistant tour manager, Jason Powell, and Tommy Shaw’s daughter Hannah Shaw, who runs their charity program “Rock to the Rescue”.
My dream is to be either an Artist Manager or a Tour Manager after I graduate and of course, my ultimate dream would be to work with Styx in some capacity!
